Back to Vista FAQ | Back to topIs there going to be one version of Lacerte 2007 Software that works with XP and Vista or, are we going to have two separate versions?
No, it will be the same program and version. Separate versions for different operating systems will not be needed.
Back to Vista FAQ | Back to topWill I be able to use Lacerte with Vista's security features more easily or will I have to use the "Run as administrator" option every time?
We are designing 2007 Lacerte Software and Add-Ons to be able to run as a Standard User. You can use the administrator option if you wish.
2006 will still require the user to Run As Administrator.

Back to Vista FAQ | Back to topWill the 2006 Lacerte Tax work on Vista?
2006 Lacerte is currently not designed to run on Vista, however, 06Tax has the best chance of normal operation under the following conditions:
- Regardless of user login (administrator or standard user), 06Tax will run with limited issues using the “Run as administrator” Option.
- Right click the Executable (W06Tax.exe, W06web.exe, Updnotif.exe) or the short cut and choose “Run as Administrator”.
- The workaround needs to be done only once as it is retained per user but must be done each time the executable is updated.
- For the Proforma/Organizer release scheduled for the end of the year, we will be working to ensure that the Proforma and the Organzier functions work properly under Vista.
What will happen with my prior year programs? How will I use them?
We will not be making any program changes to 05Tax and back year programs. If there is a need to run the back year programs on a Vista machine you will need to run the program as Administrator as described above.
