Back to topWhy was my data shipped back unconverted? What steps should I take to resolve this?
Follow any return instructions that accompanied your original media. Re-submit the new backup to Lacerte for processing.
Back to topThe converted data files are not identical to the original files I submitted. Why?
Because these files are only designed to transfer critical Proforma client data to next year's Lacerte Tax program, the files are incomplete and not designed to produce a complete or accurate next year's Lacerte Tax return. The files are designed to create complete Tax Organizers.
Back to topWhy were some of my files not converted?
Most often, the files were bad or corrupt, improperly backed up, missing critical data to the process, password-protected, or locked. These files can be corrected for those issues that apply, and resubmitted. Please re-send only those unconverted files back to Lacerte.
Back to topWhat kind of timeline can I expect when converting to Lacerte?
In most cases, conversion takes 10 business days from the date we receive your files. Large quantities of data files may require additional time for conversion.
Back to topHow can I get a replacement Conversion CD?
Request a new CD by completing this online form.
Back to topHow do I install my converted files onto a network drive?
After running the conversion installation, access the 2008 Lacerte tax program. Be sure that your current data path in Lacerte is set to the appropriate network drive path. To restore the files, click Client > Restore. The Restore From box should read C:\CONV\?DATA, where ? is the letter of the module you want to restore into. After Grouping the clients for restore, click OK.
